Multiple artist tagging in iTunes

I have so many songs that have features or multiple artists and therefore the artist sorting on either my appleTV or iPod, etc. is useless.
Even iTunes handles it inconsistently. I wish it respected the album artist for the artist search but unfortunately it doesn't.

How do you deal with multiple artists in iTunes, any suggestions?

No one have any ideas? I am close to resorting to putting the second artist in the song name field...

Why not just pick 1 as the main artist, then label the song "song title (w/ other artist)", or "song title (featuring other artist)

Thats how I do mine.

I thought of another alternative. Make a duplicate of the song and label it with the other artist as the main one. That way you will find it under both. Just an idea.

Besides making my library grow substantially it would also mess up play counts and last played dates for those songs. I think I'll stick with the first idea until Apple decides to bless us with a solution...
