I am having an issue with notifications through ESPN Scorecenter between my iPhone 4 using OS 5 and my old iPhone 3G using OS 4 that I gave to a friend of mine to use.

I setup alerts for certain teams scores, and I get the notifications - but so does my friend using my old iPhone, even when not selecting the same teams.

I've tried doing the reset -> Reset All Settings but that didn't work.

Do we need to do "erase all content and settings" on the old phone?

I want to fix the issue, but not have the person loose their contact information.

Have them completely delete the ESPN app form their device and if they want to use it they should install it via their iTunes account

Thanks for the idea, we have already tried that.

Before I gave away the phone I removed everything and did do a reset, and I helped configure the phone to the new person's iTunes account.

Are they downloding the App via your iTunes account? Do you have to log into the App via account details?

The App should behave as a completely new App when they install it, but if it asks for credentials (like ESPN subscription info) when you start the app and you put yours in it may still collate all the subsrcriber's info and push that to all those logged into that account.

Try deleting the App, then resetting the device by holding the sleep/wake and home buttons until the Apple logo appears and then re-downloading the App. That should force it to behave like a new App when it is downloaded.

What you also have to be aware of is what iTunes account is being used to download the App, that may affect it
