You might have heard I got a new (to me) KVM the other day (and one more on the way). This presented me with a problem though. When switching between two Macs, one of them (the work MBP) loses the positioning of app windows on my displays.
I thought there had to be an answer to this (and there is). Cordless Dog has an app called Stay. This app will record the window positions of your apps one by one as you tell it or all at once. You can issue a keyboard command to trigger a restore of windows, tell it to restore when reopening an app and some other cool stuff.
It works well. I bought a family license yesterday. It's also knocked out an app I usually use Finder Window Manager, but that only supports remembering Finder windows. Note for us PowerPC users, FWM works on Tiger and Leopard (probably Panther and Jaguar too, but IDK). It's a GUI for Applescript.
Maybe useful to others who have window issues when connecting and disconnecting multiple displays.
