I decided to try out a new music player today, and installed Clementine which seems a very good piece of software. Unfortunately it became apparent that I have duplicates of almost every one of songs. This didn't appear in iTunes but when i copied everything over to Clementine I suddenly have 4/5 copies of certain songs and at least one copy of most.

Upon inspection of my music folder the album folders do not show any duplicates, however when I started going through deleting duplicates from Clementine it has deleted the originals from the album folders, but still shows 4/5 copies in the player and tells me that they can not be deleted when I try.

They do not register as duplicates due to slight differences in the tagging, so the 'Delete duplicates' button doesn't help at all.

I am stuck as to what to do, as I cannot go through every single song in my library deleting the duplicates, as this would slowly drive me crazy, but also appears to be deleting the originals whist keeping the phantom copies there undeletable.
