I love using Pages, but one thing I am uncertain about is if you can combine two templates in one document? Sometimes I really like the elements from different templates or certain pages from different templates, but feel restricted to only one format. Is there any way around this?

open up a second document with the second template. and then copy and paste into the first?

I'm not sure how to select a single page and all its elements, and where to paste it? A lot of the templates do not include a blank page. How exactly were you able to accomplish this?

Start with a blank page (the blank page template). You should be able to drag, or shift-click, and select any elements you wish from another template (or use Select All if you want them all), then simply paste onto the blank page creating as many blank pages in the document as you need. Drag and drop also works.
