multiple photos in iphoto?

Why do I have duplicate photos in my photos with iphoto? i don't remember putting more than one photo there? In some cases I might have 6 or so duplicate photos.

Do you mean that they appear as multiple photos in iPhoto, or that they appear in multiple places in your Pictures folder? Because when you edit a photo, iPhoto saves a copy of the original and of the modified photo.

It seems that they are all over in my library. Don't know why.
