Just a few quick questions:

Does OSX know how to distribute server jobs between multiple servers?

IE, If i set one one to DNS, DHCP Mail. Another machine to file sharing, another machine to another task?

Or will it cause conflicts?

Also in a buisness enviroment, better to let our cisco router dish out DHCP or force one of the osx servers to do it?

Hiya

Yes you can distrubute Roles between different OSX Servers. It is considered good practice, if you have the funds and space to seperate your Roles.

Additionally in the deployment, if you specifiy DNS and DHCP on one server, vs another - just make sure you have your entries correct and the domain will populate the needed information to the clients.

I would highly advice to NOT have your Cisco router do DHCP. It is critical that this services stays on the server running DNS. These types of roles should never be seperated.

we have cisco gear as a router, switch and security hardware.

Their is a debate about weither to route all data through the server or let the cisco kit do it?

Obviously on one system all addresses will be chosen by the router.
