Multiple Time Machine drives for on-site and off-site backups?

Is it possible to use Time Machine with more than one drive?

I.e. have one drive permanently connected as the main time machine drive as usual, and then every month connect my off-site backup drive to my iMac and have it backup as if this was the only time machine drive?

Otherwise I could just clone the off-site backup from the main time machine drive... but it would take much longer, especially as my drives are 3TB :rolleyes:
