I am learning a second language and have been making electronic flash cards from recordings of many vocabulary words read in succession. Before updating to Yosemite, I was able to open an audio file in Quicktime, trim it and save one word, undo and adjust the trim parameters for a new word, then save that and repeat continuously. Since the update, I cannot re-trim a file. After trimming and saving the first word, I am locked in the new file and receive an error tone when I try to redo the trim; I cannot revert and easily adjust the trim parameters to cover a new word but instead have to re-open the original file and start the process again. This becomes a hassle as I have to repeat the process for many words and I would like to be able to use simple keyboard shortcuts to revert and adjust the trim parameters to cover new words. Is there any way that I can do this in the new version of Quicktime? Is there another (preferably free) application that could allow this workflow?
Thanks in advance for any help.
