Anyone else experiencing this? Everything works fine then they stop working. When I go into settings and turn them off and then on again they'll work for a while immediately, but then it happens again after a short time (hours).

Common issue on all iPads im afraid. I've had it on an iPad mini, a mini 2 and an iPad Air. It's all down to an iOS bug that Apple have yet to squash.

Happens quite a lot on my Mini 2. Mostly occurs in settings, messages, Safari. It seems that applications with two columns and applications with pinch gestures like safari (To get into the new tab view) are the most problematic.

Seems to be an issue with iOS 8 (I've seen it on my Air2 as well as one Air 1's). Mainly the FaceTime app.

I'm getting this on air 2! Probably a bug in iOS 8 and should be fixed rather soon I hope.

I have this on my Air 2. What I do to correct it is slide up the Control Center, and it seems to reset something because the gestures work again after I do that.

I've had this problem on my iPad 4 since updating to iOS 8. It has gotten a bit better since 8.0.1 but still happens.

Still not fixed in 8.1.1. Not sure how the hell they don't see these things.

I have it narrowed down to to just about every morning when I flip open my Smart Cover. Usually there's a notification on the screen. So it's wither that it after some amount of time the gestures wit working.

The update for iPad was 346 MB so it would have been nice to actually fix issues that people have.

Well, 8.1.1 does not fix the issue. Good job Apple.

You sure? I haven't seen it since updating early yesterday and I've used my iPad Air quite a bit since then. The main one that stopped working for me was the five finger close gesture. It's worked everytime so far.....

Yeah, it happened to me this morning. It's not a big deal, but a minor annoyance. Hopefully fixed soon.

Multitasking gesture was disabled twice in the first 24 hours of use of iOS 8.1.1 on my iPad Air 2.

Anyway a simple swipe up for the control center fixes the problem temporarily. But it's very annoying!

A swipe down from the Notification Center works as well.

iPad Air 1 here running 8.1.1 and have the same problem. I use the notification swipe trick as a temporary fix. But would hope this gets fixed in the next update.

Got it, sorry gents. I haven't had mine stop working yet but I'm hearing ya. Damnit, that means it'll happen to me too here eventually. Thought they'd ave fixed this issue. Oh well. Maybe in 8.2?
