Hey there,

My late 2013 15" rMBP is having very intermittent multitouch gesture problems. After a varied amount of time (could be 20 minutes, could be days), certain multitouch gesture stop working on my machine. The typical ones are pinch-to-zoom in Safari, Photos, and Maps, and two-finger scrolling in Calendar. Once I restart the computer, they work fine. If I go into trackpad preferences and uncheck all the options for the trackpad then check them off again, it works fine.

I've had AppleCare troubleshooting this with me, but unfortunately since its so intermittent it's tough to nail down a solution. I've restarted in Safe Mode, and reset the SMC and NVRAM. The next step I think would be just to reinstall OS X and restore from Time Machine, but I wanted to see if anyone had any other input.

Thanks!

Hey, Zexel – I've had exactly this issue for several months in High Sierra (in this case, with my current-gen iMac and Magic Trackpad 2). Did you ever gain any insight?
