Multitouch Snow Leopard not working on first boot?

I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on a MacBook Pro Early 2008 model and every cold boot I do, the 4 finger gestures don't work until I reboot. This happens EVERY time. Any reason? Thanks

Try resetting the PRAM. Hold command+option+P+R on startup until you hear the startup chime a second time.
