I use Adobe Audition 3 at work (I'm a Radio Producer), Plus I've owned a student copy since school.
When Adobe announced they were making Audition cs5.5 native on the Mac I was wicked excited. So I upgraded my Educational 3 version to Full cs5.5 for my Macbook Pro.
I was setting everything up last night (I want to try recording in Multitrack) where:
Track one = My usb Mic
Track two = Skype or other thing within the computer
Track three = my line in (I'm thinking of maybe running a sound board app off my iPad here)
But when I go to change the ins on each track I only get a left or right of what my default in is, I can then go and change my Default, but then all the track default to that.....
I KNOW I had this set up on my old macbook using Garage Band. BUT I tried to trouble shoot the problem and work backwards. BUT I came across the same problem in Garage Band.
I would launch a fresh "podcast" template and could only set each input as the default. WHATS GOING ON!!!! Do I need to buy a Mixer? I would rather not since I wont be using any Instruments EVER, just my USB Mic.
Thanks guys
I'm running a 15 inch Early 2011 MBP (I got it earlier this year)
So Lion, I have a Avid USB "Producers Mic" (it came with Pro Tools, But I like Audition Better)
and I also have Soundflower installed, I hope it may help with the re-routing of sound (aka Skype).
Thanks again guys, the people on the Adobe forums haven't really been much help (I think they are all PC users)

*EDIT*
Ok I think I have a solution but I still need help
I remember being able to do this in Garage Band before upgrading my Mac.
And I just remebered how, using an Aggragate Device. I've got EXACTLY what I want to do working again in Garage band. I could explain it, but Gary Really does it well, HERE http://youtu.be/wTb1odmGyKw
My problem right now though is that when I go to switch to my Aggregate Device I get the Error:
"The device settings could not be applied becasue the following error occured:
The device is currently in use by another process. Close other applications and attempt to select the device again.
the last valid device settings will be used"
But nothing is using the device, I restart, close everything and NOTHING is running.
I DO NOT come accross this error in garage band, which is VERY Frustrating.
Thanks Guys
