Mupen64 Audio LAG -_-

Hey all.
I just downloaded mupen64 yesterday and i got
doom64
excitbike64
and the legend of zelda: orcarina of time

I opened up the ROm, and the game works just fine.
BUT, the audio is screwed up. it sounds like someone is pressing the play/pause button constantly, and its annoying.
could any of you tell me what i need to do step-by-step?
