I love ios7 but DAMN did apple mess up the music app big time. Anyone have any good suggestions for a replacement until they at least get some bug fixes in?

I found "Ecoute" is quite similar to the old iOS 6 music app, I'm using it now and everything just perfect. You can even control this app by iOS7 system default control panel.

Ever tried Rdio? It is hands down the best music interface I've ever seen on a mobile device.

I've been using Lagu. Primarily because it allows queuing up of multiple tracks. Its interface is almost identical to the old interface.

Instead of trying to change the Apple Music app that the Apple developers are determined to keep the way they intentionally changed it, just download an application called MVP Player for $2.99

The $2.99 will remove the frustration Apple created with the music app change and I hope you will be as happy with the MVP Player app as I am. Please share with anyone that has the same issue with the Music App. As for the Apple developers, it seems they may be disconnected with users wants and needs. I'm grateful that an app developer has a solution and I can forget using the Apple Music app in IOS 7.

:):apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

I can't find MVP player on the App Store. Are you sure it's not called something else?

I am kind of evaluating how different I have to make this:

to get it in the App Store.
A dev is not supposed to mock any iPod interface,
and this one mocks it right down to ripped gfx, font and positioning.
I also want to do a version of coverflow with Box2D physics.

It was on sale for 99 cents a few days ago...

Canopener, specifically for listening with headphones, is awesome.
Just a crazy amount of options and even plays FLAC files.

I also tried Denon Audio with the $2 IAP purchase, nice but no Canopener.

Also, the original djay, which is awesome for crossfading alone.

The problem with most of these apps is that don't play nice if your library is in iTunes Match.

Groove is FREE at the moment, and gets rid of the ultra-useless lanscape mode, with a usable car mode.

I've used it for a year+ and love it - get it while it's free...

The way you describe it you make it sound like it doesn't work. I use the music app all the time and I have no complaints with it except that itunes radio needs some work. It's wonky. :)

I'm just going to wait for iOS 7 to be JB and then find a hack that make the album are smaller for makes it just text like it used to be.

Or if Apple would just make a toggle in the music app for "Show Album Art Work", so we can turn it on or off.

I really like "Leechtunes" for a music app. I was using it exclusively on when I still had iOS 6. My stock music app has been in my "useless" folder ever since I downloaded Leechtunes months ago.

Looks good and I'm especially interested since it appears it allows you to rate songs.

For anyone else interested, it is $2.99 and the app description mentions they are working on Ecoute2 so there is a new version in the pipeline which I wouldn't be surprised will cost on top of the original.

Any of these alternative apps update the play count and last played info?

Yeah, that and more importantly, star rating each song is hugely important to me. I'm going to try Groove (mentioned above) as it looks the nicest and is free but I'll let you know.

Looks pretty good but as I mentioned before, does it allow you to star rate songs and that be reflected in your iTunes library?

McIntosh AP1

It also uses the same blue and green colors as the McIntosh high end audio equipment, just beautiful.

+1 for Groove. It does a good job of analyzing music and offering up good playlists based on what's in your library. MUCH better than Genius playlists, though it's not hard to be better than Genius playlists.

I guess theres not a player ot there that can handle itune match too?

There's an option for it in the Groove app but I don't have iTunes match so I'm not sure how it works. It's free right now. Download it and let us know.

Does anyone know of a music app alternative that allows you to create playlists? iOS 7 removed the functionality that allows you to select songs from other playlists.
