I've noticed that the Music app takes forever to import CDs or just to convert between two formats, i.e. convert from WAV to ALAC or AAC. As in you can wait an hour for 50-60 tracks to convert, or 25+ minutes for a single CD. This is on an M4 MacBook Pro, so I don't see how my hardware is insufficient. I use a standard cheap LG USB DVD drive, but it is fast with iTunes or anything else even on the same MBP.
For comparison I have two other systems, a 2012 iMac running HS and iTunes 12, and a Windows computer that's running iTunes 8 on Windows 10 for old iOS downgrade/jailbreaks. Both of these crunch the same tasks with ease, using the same import settings. Converting ALAC to AAC, 50-60 tracks take more like 2 or 3 minutes compared to an hour. Has anybody else noticed this problem? It seems to affect both Sequoia and Tahoe Music apps.
