Hello!

Since a number of months (too many to remember, but across the old and the new system software) I have a peculiar issue with the Music app on my MacBook Pro. I frequently play music on the HomePod. Sometimes (frequently after the MBP sleeps) I start Music that's then played on the internal speaker, although the indicator checkbox says Music is streaming to the HomePod. Mostly I can redirect to the HomePod by selecting the internal speaker and then again HomePod, but sometimes it requires restarting the Music app (and rarely, it requires restarting the Mac).

A minor annoyance, but having to deal with that a few times each day I'm wondering if it's a known issue, and if I do something wrong?

Thanks
Peter

I have two original HomePods and one Mini.

I have to constantly restart Music app and/or check or uncheck HomePods to get them to work correctly.

The new wrinkle with OS26 is that it will often now play ONLY on the internal speaker, regardless of what is checked.

It's been going on for me for years, especially if the music is stopped for any reason EXCEPT me manually clicking to do so in the Music app.

Super annoying.
