Music App Quiet Until Text Message

I'm running iOS8 on an iPhone 6, and songs are quiet until a text message comes through but only whilst using the native Music app? When you play the next song it's quiet again, and the same thing happens? Any idea what would be causing this?

I've stopped using spotify since Apple Music has been out, but can't recall it ever being a problem then!

I seem to get this sometimes where i have it full volume and it's really quiet for a few minutes or it can be 5 minutes or more and then BANG...full volume returns, weird!

Grayburn, have you restarted the device yet by fully powering it off? This has fixed the issue before.

Yes but it has happened again whilst streaming from Apple Music.

It's possible that the Facebook app is the culprit. My music would be quiet then I would double tap to close the Facebook app and music would return to normal volume.
