Music Application

What is a good free music application out there where I can just put in the notes on the lines and listen to them? It's hard to find a good one for mac.

I use sibelius, which I like. I've also heard good things about finale.

Finale for free?

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Finale for free? How about ProTools? I heard if one buys an M-Audio digital interface they can get a free copy of ProTools LE. Any information would be great.
