i'm sure i'm not the only one, but i've got over 16gb of music and videos to put onto my iphone.

so i'll just have to pick what i want to have on my phone.
but i don't see a, 'sync check marked only' option.
it's either all or playlists. so do you guys just make
playlists?

the way i did it was by just making 1 playlist called iPhone
and dragged all the music i wanted from my whole library
onto that playlist and let that 1 playlist sync with my
phone.

are there other methods?

when the iPhone is connected there is an option at the bottom that is for syncing only checked items.

I recommend using smart playlists to manage the songs on your iPhone.

Ya, you gotta make a playlist with everything you want to sync. Gets kinda annouying at first, but you get used to it fast.

Definitely go with playlists and transfer your movies/videos constantly. After I watch a video I'll take it out of the rotation. My music is basically handled in the same manner. I like to rotate my music and videos on a regular basis. It seems that I have probably 50GB+ of video/TV shows/movies and probably 75GB of music, so I don't mind rotating playlists several times a week.
