I have 2 pairs of Bluetooth headphones. I updated to iOS 9 when it was first released and whenever I would connect my headphones to my iPhone my music controls would appear on the lockscreen. Then about a month ago I was having an unrelated issue with Apple Music (carrier subscription issue) and reset my iPhone settings as part of that troubleshooting - ever since then my music controls have not appeared when connecting my headphones. Sometimes my iPhone screen will turn on by itself when I connect my headphones, so it's detecting something, but not displaying the controls.

I use my headphones every day, connect/disconnect them multiple times each day, and always start playing music as soon as they are connected. I feel like iOS has had plenty of time to learn that I use my music app when I connect my headphones - is there any way to teach or set iOS to do this? Are there any settings I should check?

Thanks guys.
