Since Music Bar Extended gave me nothing but headaches with respringing, I thought I'd try Music Controls Pro instead. Before I go hit up the Dev with a couple of questions, I figured I'd ask here since I know some people are using this. Searches here and on Google didn't turn anything up.

--Can I change the background of the status bar drop down? All I'm finding are a bunch of plists for this app in iFile, no pngs/jpegs to theme, and I'm not sure where in those plists I might at least adjust the opacity to something darker. Ideally, I'd like to add my own background image to the drop down--right now all I can do is a too light transparency or the SwitcherLinen background that matches the stock firmware.

--Lockscreen mode: I want the drop down from the status bar and nothing else--no huge album art covering my screen. But at the moment, even after repeated resprings, the Show Artwork toggle has no effect; on or off, the artwork still blocks my Lockscreen while the music is playing (it disappears when music is paused). Can this be done on the full version? Problem with 4.2.1 only, maybe? (first image shows what I get while playing whether the toggle is off or on, second is paused and is what I want to have showing when I hit play)

I'd like to figure it out before my free trial ends in five days so I can decide if it's worth the $6 to me.

Edit--Lockscreen issue is partly solved via this tweak: http://www.tipb.com/2011/02/23/dail...rk-iphone-lockscreen-playing-music-jailbreak/ But I'd still like to know if the toggle works for others.

Edit 2: With around 50 views and no responses, plus a ton of additional searching on Google with no results, sent a query to the dev. We'll see what he has to say.

Edit 3: Dev replied within 24 hours, so point in his favor. However, his responses to my questions ranged between merely unhelpful to borderline rude. Which I guess answers my question on giving him my money. LOL It's a nice app if you have no problems with it aesthetically (you also cannot change the icon for missing album art, even by changing the main one in the system files), and the responsiveness of the buttons is sketchy at times, at least on my phone. But there's no alternative that also handles streaming sites such as Pandora or TuneIn Radio.

I'll keep playing with the files over the weekend to see if I can fix the bits that bother me, but it's likely I'll have to continue to do without alternative controls for music at this point, because $6 is a lot for an app I'm not 100% on. Bummer.
