music from Mac to 4s

I have loaded some music from my disks into iTunes on my iMac. But I cannot get them to upload into my 4s.
I had no problem with iPhone 3. I did something right before and now I'm a failure.
What am I not doing correctly?

Make sure the correct sync boxes are ticked for the music you want on your phone. Connect the phone via CABLE to your computer.


iTunes should open and your phone should appear in the left hand pane.

Hit the sync button.
