Hi last night I decided to format my iphone5 in the vain hope it would speed it up a little.
I flattened it then restored from the last cloud back up and remarkably it put some, not all of my Music back on.
Music has always been omitted when you restore from Cloud.

Please note this was over the air and not plugged into iTunes.

Is this a new feature in ios8?

That happened with my iPhone 6. I've had every iPhone since the 3G but this is the first time any music was restored. Weirdly, it only copied over about 300 tracks out of an iCloud Match library of over 16,000..and approx 3000 tracks originally on the phone...weird!

I contacted Apple who didn't really explain it very well.

The Advisor said "this is normal"
To which I replied no it isn't,and if it was why only some of my Music,to which I was met with silence.

Ive done scores of restores on my Phones and iPads over the Years and never once has Music been brought down from Cloud.
