Music mp3's on my hardrive, but how do i get them into iTunes?

im being really stupid here, but thanks to some good advice from this website i managed to save the tracks on my ipod onto my new mac, but how do i now get these files into my iTunes Libary??

either double click on the mp3 you want to play and it will automatically be saved in your library, or if you have a folder full of mp3's drag the whole folder into iTunes.

I think that's what you're asking unless I misunderstood the question.

Alternatively, go File > Add to Library..., browse to the folder containing your music files, and click Choose.
