all my music is on an external. itunes points to it in preferences, Nothing shows up in the window, I'm beyond pissed, been working on this all day, i reinstalled everything for . WTF do i do

Music on External HD Doesn't show in iTunes window

Can you access the drive through Finder at the moment (is it mounted in other words)? If you hold OPTION whilst opening iTunes it should give you the option to select a library. Try re-selecting your library on the external drive. 
I had the same problem as you.
In iTunes 7, just hold down the option key while clicking on the iTunes icon, and it will let you choose your library

What if the above method does not work?
Although, the music shows in Recently Added, but not under the Library > Music.
