Music on New iPhone

Just got an iPhone 3GS today. Is it okay to transfer songs from frostwire onto it? Or how should I go about getting music? Thanks!
Yeah that's fine, as I'm sure that's really what a majority of people do. That is what I used to do, until I started just purchasing from iTunes because it was easier for me to just pay and download with all the metadata already there than organize it all myself.
