I'll soon be getting LG's VX9400 phone for Verizon Wireless. The phone is capable of playing MP3's but the software that Verizon includes to sync the music only works in Windows (while I have a Mac). However, I think I've thought of a workaround for this and want to see what everyone else thinks.

The phone takes microSD memory cards for extra storage. What I want to do is purchase a microSD card and a microSD USB reader for the computer. I'll transfer the MP3's to the card directly from the computer then pop the card into the phone. Hopefully, the phone's music player will see the files and play them the same way it would if I had sync'ed it with the software.

Suggestions, comments?

Assuming the phone reads MP3s off the memory card, it should work. Thats what I do with my Nokia N73 and it works fine. Make sure you format the card in the phone though.

format the card?

so put the card in the phone and use it in the phone before putting it in the reader?
