Music play button not working and volume slider for music/video gone. HELP PLEASE

So I after jailbreaking my iphone 4 (5.01) and adding all of the things that I wanted I went to go listen to some of my music and when double clicked the home button to access the play button it didn't change to a pause button after the music started. And furthermore I couldn't pause it from there, I had to manually go to the app to pause it and I also realized that the volume slider wasn't either in the app or in the slider bar. My iPhone seems to think that I have it plugged in to speaker. Does anyone know what I can do about this? Should I just refresh from back up and rejailbreak it? If I'm not being very descriptive enough I can post screenshots.
