What is a good music player to play mp3's on OS 8.6?

Im new to mac, and will be formatting to 9 soon....but for now....i need osme kind of music player....any good links i should now about?

for 8.6? I have no idea - that's extremely old. Once you upgrade to OS 9 you can have iTunes?

oh yeah? i thought that was only avail on OSx....hmm

im upgrading to 9 super quick.....then jaguar once i get more ram and a usb card....ok thanks for the input...=D

I'm pretty sure that os 9 had a really primitive version of iTunes, but I could be wrong. Either way, I'm sure OS 9 has a media player of some kind.

sweet thanks guys!!

all of your help is really getting me into macs again...=D

If you can find it. SoundJam is what you are looking for. It's by Ambrosia software and was the best MP3 player pre-iTunes. It had skin support and playlist capabilities. If you can find it you'll be in good hands. There was MacAmp as well, but it was kinda lame.

EDIT:
Here it is.

And yes iTunes was introduced in Mac OS Classic. It was about the only program I recognized when I upgraded to OS X. You can find that here:

hmm...that version tracker link is no good.....well..the lin is good...but there is no download available.....=[

oh well....i guess ill just have to wait till i get osx on it....=[

Well I know I have a copy of SoundJam back home. Which is 5,000 miles away... Oh well.

But SoundJam was by Casady & Greene, not Ambrosia, so long ago I forgot. I did find a copy of IE 5, and probably won't crash your computer.

It appears to work.

Just use an old version of iTunes. SoundJam was bought by Apple and turned into iTunes, so they are similar programs in function. The interfaces are a bit different though.

cool to know..im sure i will....thanks

i have IE 5 on there now.....it seems to be ok, but sometimes it just crashes.....

....i also attribute this to only having 64mb of installed RAM.....

more great stuff on this link.....THANKS AGAIN!
