I created playlists on my Mac and I tried to update cloud library but the playlists don't seem to sync to my iPhone. I've tried everything I can think of and I don't understand why. I'm only able to see the Smart Playlists appear on my phone... OR if I create a playlist on my iPhone, I will see it on my Mac. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm using Mac OS Catalina and iOS 14 on my phone.

First check to see your Mac is updated to 10.5.7 and If you subscribe to Apple Music, your music should be transferred automatically to all your devices and you shouldn't have to do anything because syncing is required.Make sure you have music app preference in General and check sync library on your Mac , then on your iPhone setting / music/turn add playlist songs on and sync library.

I am dealing with that right now I tried to back up my iPad and my iPhone prior to doing the iOS 14 update through my iMac which at the time was running 10.15.3 and it wiped out all of my playlists.... which I typically create on my portable devices ....then when I updated to 14.1 on my iOS devices it seems that purchases that I made are not displaying properly in my music library or iTunes library on my iMac ...
THEN.... after the 14.1 update only 1/4- 1/3 of my music was restored to my devices (I keep all of my music physically on my devices).
(I DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO APPLE MUSIC....I’m ”old school” ....I OWN my ****....and don't depend on a cloud.)

ON THE iMac, Some items are missing artwork while “get info“ shows the artwork is properly assiciated with the song/album ...Some artwork is MIS ASSOCIATED with OTHER SONGS...
In “Recent Purchases” again on the iMac, the most recent ones that I bought with 14.1 loaded on my devices, SOME Albums are split into two different albums just arbitrarily picking some songs out of an album and putting them in another album that looks like a duplicate...(that is actully how i discovered the issue)....I was about to delete the duplicate albums but decided to CHECK THE CONTENTS....

Catalina appears to be a dumpster fire w/regard to music...

And 14.1 is causing all kinds of issues....My iMac can no longer “see” my watch now on 14.1.....bluetooth connections fail or require multiple attempts....

A pain in ass all around....🙄🤬
