Hey,

since 2 weeks now i've got myself a brand new Mac Pro (8-cores).
I've installed windows XP pro with Bootcamp (works great)

but now the problem, when i'm using FL or Ableton or ....
and i check my CPU (ctrl+alt+del) i notice that only 1 or 2 cores are being used at almost 90%, the other 6 cores are like 0 to 5%.

The problem is that when i use only 7 VST's or something like that,
FL tells me my CPU is in the red (95-99%), which really isn't.

is this a problem because XP pro can't handle 8 cores?
or has this something to do with some presets i have to change in Bootcamp?

if anybody knows what the problem is, i would forever be thankfull.

You're kinda correct, the software can't use more than 2 cores.

Run Logic Pro 8 in OS X. It's cheap, far more productive than any other suite I've used and sounds simply fantastic. The bundled plugins are actually of a very very good standard too, and it can use all your cores.

strange :) i know a lot of people who use FL with 10 times more VST's and never have CPU problems.
Logic Pro 8 is indeed better but 100 times more difficult to learn :)
