Music purchased on iTunes

ITunes says it can play music bought on 5 different computers. Does it matter how I transfer the music? Would it still ask for my iTunes account password whether I transfer the music on a CD or on a USB hard drive key?

Separately, if I use my .mac account as my iTunes account, can I use a different password for my iTunes than I do for my regular .mac log in?

If you transfer the file (whether on CD, USB stick, DVD etc.), you will be asked to authorise the machine to play it from your available count of 5. However, if you burn a CD with your iTMS purchases on, you would then either just play them on the other machine from the CD or you could rip the audio onto the new machine as you would do any other audio CD. (I won't patronise you with the DRM issues of the latter method.)

I'm not sure about your account question. I myself still have my iTunes account set up from my pre .Mac days so it still shows my old email address. I can't seem to find a way to migrate my account details- all I want to change is my email address!

As for the account, I was told by Apple there is no way to migrate account details. I ended up creating a second account using my .mac ID and now only use that.
