I have looked at this guide here :
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2688

What I want to do is to share my Macbook Pro's iTunes library with my Windows based desktop.

- So far what I've done is on my Macbook's iTunes I have set preferences to share my library with a password.
- On my Windows desktop, I have shared libraries checked

So anyone know the reason why on my Windows Desktop I can't see the shared music?
Thanks for any help.

You need to open service manager on windows, check whether the "Bonjour" service works normally.

Bonjour Service's Status is 'Started'

I just tried installing iTunes on a different Windows PC and it's picking up the shared Library... seems like it's this computer that doesn't see it. I'm using Windows Firewall so it's unlikely that it would be the problem?

Yes,Windows firewall is the possible reason for this problem, open Control Panel->Windows firewall, allow "mDnsReponder.exe" to access network.
