I am on a 2008 Mac Pro. My computer was on and after being in another room for about 5 minutes, I start hearing my music playing on the Mac. My iTunes wasn't even on, how is this possible??? No one here but me, so it's not like the keyboard was pressed or anything the music just started playing. It was a random song too, in the middle of one of my albums.

First: has anyone ever heard of such a weird thing? Second: is this of concern security wise? Is someone hacked into my machine?

Check your dashboard ...

What programs are running?

What am I checking the dashboard for....

Running normal apps like I always do, mail, calendar, a couple web design programs, nothing out of the ordinary.

I've heard that some Safari Webclip widgets can cause music to play too.

If you can find a link regarding this, that would be awesome. I do have web clips in my dashboard but they are only for news sites and I'm not sure if you mean the web clips play music from the websites or on your computer. The song that started blaring on my machine for no reason was in my iTunes, which as I said, was turned off.
