I will be making the transition from PC to MAC as soon as the new iMAC's are released (where are they!?!? :D)

I have all sorts of music stored on my PC in various folders (basically it's a mess). I have recently consolidated my iTunes library and am happy with the selection available there. Once I get my new iMac up and running and I can see all of my music stored in iCloud using iMatch, can I simply select that music and download it back to the iMac so that I have it in good quality and in a single location? Do I even need to bother downloading it all in one go? Should I just it download stuff as and when I play it?

You will be able to easily import your iTunes library to your new iMac when it arrives. A new start? Up to you, but when I changed platforms I actually did start from scratch. Fine if you have the time to re rip CDs and DVDs, otherwise the import option is probably your best bet.
