Music stops playing while online in Safari - iOS6/iPhone 4

After updating to my iPhone 4 to iOS6 I now notice that if I am listening to music and I access random websites in Safari, the music will stop (it is paused for some reason). In order to resume listening to music, I have to toggle over from Safari to Music and press Play. This happens with the NY Times site, USA Today and some local news sites.

Has anyone else experienced this?
