Music swaps to mono by itself

Music switches from stereo to mono when switching apps sometimes. For example, when I switch to, open or close the Amazon app or default Clock app, the music playing in the default Music app through my true wireless headphones seem to switch to mono, or occasionally back to stereo. There's no sound coming from said non-Music apps. Haven't figured out what exactly is causing this. iPhone 7, iOS 14
