Ever since iCloud Match, this is how I sync music to my iPhone:
1) keep Match switched off
2) sync via iTunes to a playlist which contains music that I want on my phone all the time
3) switch Match back on.
4) then, normally, I will get a warning that Match will replace the library on the phone. That has always worked OK, as all that happens is that the existing music remains, and all my other music is available via the cloud.
For the last few weeks, however, some albums are showing duplicate songs, i.e. the one from the sync and the same song with the Cloud symbol next to it.
What is weird is that it is only some albums and not all.
I've tried logging in and out of my iTunes account, but doesn't help.
Any ideas on this?

It must be an iOS thing cause I have the same issue. I turned off match to solve the problem.

Try it this way, remove all music from you phone through iTunes. Then eject the phone from iTunes, turn on match on the phone and down load that playlist through the music app on your phone.

I have stopped using match on my phone because of an ongoing album art issue.

Cancel match & stop flushing money down the toilet. Problem solved.
Actually, Match is very useful.
It means you can get any of your music wherever you are onto your iPhone.

How can you do that with Match switched on? iTunes won't allow any syncing while Match is on.

Or you can buy the Plex app and pay once and get all your music & videos anywhere you have wifi or service.
