Ever since I purchased beats x wireless earbuds last week, I am having intermittent problems with the volume control on my music player on my apple watch. (I've synced select playlists from my iphone to the watch.) The volume goes from low to high and back and forth as if someone other than me is controlling the volume setting on my watch. Sometimes the music won't restart, but, most times it does, though it can also skip from song to song.

Apple support had me repair to no results.

Could there be a problem with using beats x blue tooth wireless headphones with the apple watch 3? I just starting re-using my apple air buds to see if this problem occurs when I am wearing them.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

there is an option to show music controls if playing, they pop up when you flip your wrist, and the crown becomes volume.
it's new in watchOS 4

is it possible your sleeve is turning the crown?

have you tried using the beats with your phone or mac? to see if it still happens, could be something stuck in or a bad button on the beats.

No. It is a software issue. The crown control has unreasonable delay with back and forth. It is just like a physical crown, if you strengthen it, it will loosen back a little. I have never thought that a digital crown should do that.

Currently, you can press the volume button and it will show a -/+ indicator that you can use on the watch's screen.

If your Crown is defective it will effect ALL scrolling and not just the volume control adjustment. You post is ambiguous. What do you mean by strengthen the Crown. If your Crown is loose then Apple would replace it (no diagnostics test necessary or repairing) since that is CLEARLY a hardware problem.

Also what waw74 described is NOT a software issue. This happens to me all the time when I forget the Now Playing screen when working out. I always remember to swipe back so my workout gloves don't suddenly turn the volume up/down.

As I believed it is not a hardware issue that I said it was a software issue. Like you said, if it is a hardware issue, it will happens to all apps that are using the crown. Since it only happens to the music app of mine, I said it was a software issue.

For strengthening part, I said for a machanical watch, which is using the crown to strengthen the winder, the crown will backwards a little when you strengthen the winder.

It is clearly a software issue as it only and always happens with Music app on Apple Watch when using the crown to justify volumes. The now playing widget on Apple Watch is fine when the music is playing on the iPhone.

Sorry, must be a language usage thing. I think what you are referring to is what in the US we call 'winding' a watch.

Winding: Operation consisting in tightening the mainspring of a watch. This can be done by hand (by means of the crown) or automatically (by means of a rotor, which is caused to swing by the movements of the wearer's arm).
