musician's help!

hey guys, need some advice for buying a new mac laptop.
i am an avid musician and i was looking to buy some sort of laptop with pro tools loaded on it so that my band will be able to record to the laptop. any advice as to which model i should buy and any upgrades to existing models that i may need to make. i am pretty new to this mac stuff, and any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much!

15" MacBook Pro with Logic Pro should do you well.

A Macbook Pro will do nicely with Logic Pro, you will also need a good input device such as the Alesis Multimix Firewire 16 - 16 track mixer. I own one & it's supurb.
You might also want to invest in some good quality recording Mics, (For vocals, and acoustics/Drums). Also invest in good quality cables as they will ensure that all the tone gets to the board unmolested.
