I'm trying to get my Mustek 1200 UB Plus scanner (which I originally bought to work with my PC about 10 years ago) to work with my Macbook. But when I try to load the installation cd, a message comes up saying "You can't open the application because the Classic environment is no longer supported". I've been to the mustek site and tried downloading the up to date driver, but the same thing happens, and I've had no luck contacting mustek about it. Any advice would be appreciated. I realise this scanner is an old piece of kit, but I don't need anything fancy, and it seems a waste to throw away a piece of perfectly serviceable hardware just because the software is hard to come by. Thanks.

Hi! I was wondering whether you've thought of trying some third party drivers- some do a better job than the proprietor's versions! I've linked to VueScan's (which is used by some photographers in place of their native driver for a variety of scanners), although isn't free it does have a trial so you can see how well you get on with it.

I'm still amazed that companies don't properly support their products on Mac OS, or are happy to do it pretty badly. Still, good luck!
