Mutiple repeat text messages

This is happening from a Verizon user I get the same text 2 , 3 , even 4
times before. All within a short period of time from when the original is sent. Apparently I'm also not getting some. Any ideas ?

Contact AT&T. It has nothing to do with the iPhone, IMO.
