Hey everyone. My digital camera records muxed mpeg1 videos which play fine in quicktime but iMovie only imports the video and not the sound. Is there anything I could do (apart from MPEG Streamclip) to get the sound in there too?
Thanks

You have to demux your MPEG-1 videos.

Congratulations. Is using the infinitely slow 'MPEG Streamclip' program the only way to go?
You might hop over to VersionTracker.com and MacUpdate.com and take a look.

Actually, you can download ffmpegX, a program that will allow you to convert any type of mpeg or .avi to another. I have used the program, and although it may be intimidating at first, it certainly does its job.

It will help you on muxed mpeg1 files. I have worked with these kinds of video files and ffmpegX and I can ssure you it works with them.
