Carrier MVNO carrier: Visible is not on the list when selecting Apple Card payment option

Just chatted with an Apple specialist about this issue.
She said I could not purchase (finance) an iPhone 17 unless I had an account with one of the major carriers.
She said I could open a new account (line) with TMO or VZW and then after I get the phone financed, switch it over to my MVNO carrier.
Would that be safe to do ?
in past years, it was possible to order by choosing the t-mobile option, as they didn't ask you to enter any details to purchase. then when setting up the phone there was a way to bypass the activation screen. we won't know if this method will work this year until someone tries it and posts about it
Choose T-Mobile and you'll be fine, unless it asks for account information at checkout (which it hasn't in past years).

Unlocked with no carrier is still available as long as you're willing to pay in full. I don't think that option was ever available with 0% APR financing.
AppleCard and the CitizenOne financing options do give you unlocked devices though.
I remember reading the same when they killed 0% financing on unlocked phones purchased with the Apple Card.
It was available for the first couple of years since the card’s release, then they ended it.
My Friday preorder is in so let's see if Apple delivers and I can get Visible to activate it.....Thanks for this thread. I also have Visible and was wondering the same thing. I selected T-Mobile. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly
There's no risk - all your money can be refunded if it doesn't work.

As long as you don't choose the standard iPhone 17 - that is restricted to account verification.
If you choose Verizon they will charge you a $40 upgrade fee for transferring to new phone. It’s insane.
Not that I am buying a new phone this year but you bought T-Mobile option and it’ll be unlock for visible? I have visible.
Yeah. Screw their loyal customers shelling out over $1,000 for phones and carrying their credit cards. I'm really ticked off at apple over this.
