Hello everyone,

does anyone know the difference between the "normal" MX Master 3 and the MX Master 3 Mac version? Will both work for Mac & Windows?

Thanks!

The Mac version is a ripoff. Get the normal one.

Mac one has a USB-C to USB-C cable, a "space gray" color, and does NOT include a USB receiver.

Normal one has a USB-C to USB-A cable, a black color, and DOES include a USB receiver (which uses USB-A).

Logitech sells the receiver separately for $15. Both versions are comically the same price and both obviously do Bluetooth. For the Mac one, they took the receiver out of the box because they did not want to develop a USB-C receiver and there was a compatibility issue with using it to wake from sleep if using FileVault (which is more problematic if you are using a Logitech wireless keyboard to connect through the receiver in clamshell.) However, it is nice to have this receiver given Bluetooth kind of sucks and the receiver tends to yield a more reliable signal.

I have the non-Mac version. Works fine with my Mac mini, my work Windows 10 laptop, and even a Raspberry Pi 4 I’ve started playing around with. I use it via Bluetooth, not with the dongle.

I’m quite happy with it.
