MX1000 side buttons + VMware

Is there any way to get my side buttons (back/forward) working under a WinXP guest in VMware fusion? Tried installing setpoint inside my guest OS but it doesn't recognize any Logitech mice. Does anyone know how to get this working?

If you connect the mouse directly to the VM by attaching it as a USB device, it should work fine. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if this option is available under VMware. If it is, you may need to have more than one mouse attached to the computer.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I'd also suggest you contact VMware and tell them about your situation. They may build compatibility for your mouse into an update of Fusion.
