...i'm wondering if this is why my macbrook pro has been very slow lately when surfing the web. i had the cable guy come out and run some tests, and he said that he didn't know why it was slow...his tests showed that it was uploading and downloading at or above what is considered "good."

recently i stayed in a hotel...not sure what kind of connection they had, but it was working considerably faster. that's why i thought it had to be the cable, but the technician says no.

so i bought an external hard drive, then i opened up iTunes and dragged a bunch of movies and tv shows that i downloaded from the iTunes store. however, doing this alone did not appear to free up any space on my hard drive. what do i do?

Simply dragging files will copy them across to the external drive.
You'll still need to remove them from the internal one...
