hello is there any difference in the new chips did they change something? Are the new macbook pros faster then my 2.93 even at the 2.8 speeds? Im sure the 3.06 is a bit faster but im worried that the new machines have a whole new chip set? why did they stop making the 2.93 it seems they took a backwards step by going to the 2.8 and 3.06 instead of the 2.93 and the 3.06? does anyone have any insight....

also is my graphics card in my machine the same as the gpu in the new machines i believe last generations top end macbook pros came with 512mb not 256mb am i wrong? or does my machine have the option between the both?

is the only difference hd space and cpu? or am i missing something:confused:

My thoughts

I bought a 17" 2.93 a few weeks ago...I think the 3.06 is nothing more than an overclocked 2.93 or the 2.93 is an underclocked 3.06...either way there is very very little different between the two.
