Hi,

My 24 inch iMac cannot turn on at all. Earlier in the day, I had spoken to a senior apple advisor about the numerous software and hardware issues I have been having with my computer . I told her that earlier in the day, when I had inserted USB cable that is attached to my external hard drive, into USB port, computer screen went black. After pressing many times on power button, I decided to detach external drive from USB port and then on power button and computer booted up. I would like to add that for the past few months, I have been hearing loud noises when I would attach any external device to USB ports, which occurred with the issue I am describing now. The apple advisor told me to reinsert the cable that is connected to external hard drive into USB port and again computer screen went black. After removing hard drive from USB port and pressing on power button to turn on imac, I was told to power off iMac,remove power cable cord from iMac,press power button for five seconds, then reattach power cord to iMac. This was suppose to do a hard reset.. I was then told to reinsert cable connected to hard drive into USB port again. The computer screen went black and removing hard drive from USB port, imac would not power up after pressing power button. I press on power button many times but imac would not boot up. I was told imac has to be repaired. Six months ago, power supply was replaced and at that time, was told it could be logic board as well. I would like to apologize for long story but I am typing this on my cell phone and never l posted before using my cell phone, otherwise would break sentences into paragraphs. I am so stressed out over this situation and would appreciate any feedback from the members as I am completely without any computer because my other computer, MacBook air was sent in for repair.
